Industry Series: Broadcaster One-on-One Pitches
Connect one-on-one with key decision-makers in film and television.
This exclusive networking event offers filmmakers the chance to book 15-minute, focused meetings with representatives from leading broadcasters. Gain insights, pitch projects, and build meaningful industry relationships in a professional, low-pressure setting. Spots are limited—register early to secure your sessions.
All broadcasters are appearing remotely through video calls set up by RIFFA. A laptop and headphones will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own headphones.
- 2:30-3:30pm – One-on-one virtual pitches
- 2:30-5:00pm – In person peer networking with light refreshments

Registration is on a first come basis.
To register, purchase a “ticket” online to hold your spot.
Within 24 hours you will receive a link to the registration form. This is where you can specify, in order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd), your selected broadcaster and time slot. RIFFA cannot guarantee more than one pitch session per person. However, if there is availability, we will do our best to accommodate your additional requests.
You will be contacted by a RIFFA representative to confirm your final registration broadcaster and time. Your request is not complete without a final confirmation.

Although we strive to accommodate your preferred registration and time, we cannot make any guarantees due to a number of conditions, including availability. Adam Feigen – Bell Media
As a Development Executive for Bell Media, Adam works with independent production partners, writers, and creatives on the development of new scripted projects for Bell Media’s Original Programming slate. Prior to Bell Media, he served as the Development Executive at Incendo Media, overseeing the creation of scripted television series and movies. He was also part of the development team at marblemedia, working across kids’, factual, and scripted programming. As a broadcaster, Adam spent time at Shaw Media in their Original Drama Content department and at the CBC as Executive in Charge of Drama Development. He began his broadcasting career as a Network Programmer at Canwest, working across E! and Global Television.
By championing diversity and distinct talent, Adam has built strong relationships with a range of writers, directors, and creatives across the country. He is a dedicated advocate for mentorship and has served as an industry mentor with the CFC, APA, Banff World Media Festival, and The Reel World Film Festival.

Cam Maitland – Hollywood Suite
Cam Maitland is the Film and Content Specialist for the Canadian movie channels Hollywood Suite. A producer, writer, and filmmaker originally from Edmonton, Alberta, he received a fine arts degree in filmmaking from Simon Fraser University. Through the years, his work has developed into digging through Canadian film history for projects like The Royal Canadian Movie Podcast and writing and producing original documentary programs about film history like ‘A Year In Film’ and ‘Cinema: A-Z’. His work, on top of spotlighting classic films, also includes consulting alongside the development and acquisitions team on original films and series at Hollywood Suite.

Zach Marcovici – CBC
Zach Marcovici is currently Executive in Charge of Development for CBC Drama, where he is responsible for developing high quality original drama series. Prior to joining CBC, he was Director of Development & Production at BentFrame Film & TV, overseeing a slate of female-driven TV projects for the Canadian and international market, with a focus on spotlighting LGBTQ+ and diverse stories and voices. Zach also previously worked in development and production at Back Alley Films, serving as Associate Producer on CORONER (CBC/The CW), and began his career at Vanguarde Artists Management.

Shane Smith – TVO
Shane Smith is a documentary programmer at TVO. From 2015- 2023 he was programming and artistic director at Hot Docs, North America’s largest Festival and Market for documentary film. Smith previously worked at the Toronto International Film Festival as the director of special projects and director of public programs. Other roles include short film programmer at Sundance, director of programming at Channel Zero Inc and executive producer in-flight entertainment at Spafax Canada. Smith has served on juries and spoken on panels at Festivals and events globally.

Heather Williamson – Bell Media
As Senior Development and Production Executive for Bell Media’s Original Programming, Factual and Reality, Heather Williamson finds high stakes factual series across all Bell Media services and oversees a development and production slate that includes, MARK MCKINNEY NEEDS A HOBBY and DRAG BRUNCH SAVED MY LIFE, the upcoming, LAST CAPTAINS and BLUE COLLAR and hit original series HIGHWAY THRU HELL and UNDERGROUND RAILROAD: SECRET HISTORY, as well as Crave Originals KINGS OF COKE, BILLIONAIRE MURDERS and OPTIMIST’S GUIDE TO THE PLANET WITH NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU. Melissa Williamson - Bell Media
An accomplished media industry leader with recent experience as a scripted
development executive with Bell Media’s original programming team. Prior to this Williamson oversaw the primetime scripted division at Blue Ant Studios (Saloon Media) as Senior Vice President of Scripted.
A Winnipeg-born executive producer who frequently collaborates with international co- producers and buyers in the USA, Latin America, and Europe, including Apple+, The CW, Roku, Ellen Pompeo’s Calamity Jane (US), and StoryFirst Media (UK). Based in Toronto, Williamson possesses extensive experience creating, packaging, and financing television content for the Canadian market including Bell Media, CBC, Corus, and APTN.
Williamson launched her media career in Los Angeles with Blueprint Entertainment before joining Entertainment One’s scripted television division in 2008. Subsequently became President of Pier 21 Films, overseeing numerous shows including the Bell Media (CTV, Comedy Network) series, The Beaverton.
