Programming Manager
Supervisor: Director of Programming
Capacity: Part time; Contracted position, ending December 31, 2025
Hours of availability: 14 -18 hours per month
The Programming Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Programming to exemplify the mission of RIFFA in the development of high quality, diverse, and groundbreaking In Competition and Non Competition film programming. In coordination with the RIFFA Programming team, the Programming Manager will assure that the films screened at the Festival amplify marginalized voices, foster public engagement, are celebrated for their artistic and creative merits, and builds upon the international recognition of RIFFA.
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Director to recruit, build, and support a comprehensive and effective Programming team;
- Assist in the process and scheduling of all Official Selection films to include, but not limited to, call for entries, screening process, programming, notification process, negotiations & agreements, budgeting, communications & publications, juried awards, wrap-up & evaluation, and associated events;
- Develop and sustain significant and positive relationships with the local, national, and international community of filmmakers, distributors, and others who represent both established and emerging talent in the film industry;
- Prepare and assist engaging film introductions, and professionally moderate film Q&A sessions;
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications and Social Media team in the coordination of film programming announcements, press releases, and social media;
- Liaise with RIFFA team members (Director of RIFFA Academy, Communications Director, Director of Operations, technical support, outreach) to ensure smooth execution of the schedule and operational needs for the Festival;
- Other duties as occasionally assigned by the Director of Programming, and supporting CEO as needed.
Qualifications:
- Exemplary written, verbal, and computer-oriented communication skills;
- A history of significant artistic achievement and inspiring creative vision;
- The experience and desire to collaborate with programming team and artistic staff;
- Ability to exhibit consistent follow-through and to work under time constraints;
- Advanced knowledge of English vocabulary, syntax, and grammar;
- Additional language skills a plus;
- Previous experience with production, broadcast, publicity, distribution, cultural agency, and film studies is an asset;
The qualified candidate must be willing to commute to Regina, SK as required for scheduled Festival screenings and events.

Outreach Programming Manager

Position Overview:
RIFFA seeks an enthusiastic and organized Manager of Outreach Programming to spearhead broader community engagement initiatives and foster strong partnerships. This role will manage RIFFA’s outreach programs and collaborate closely with the Communications and Operations departments to promote the festival’s activities and build goodwill.
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach Programming (70%)
- Work alongside the CEO to execute board-approved outreach programs.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations by meeting potential partners, pitching program structure and its impacts, drafting proposals, and facilitating contract signings.
- Collaborate with internal departments to execute outreach partnerships and ensure successful program delivery.
- Represent RIFFA as a positive and professional ambassador to foster goodwill in the community.
- Draft and maintain confidential outreach proposals, contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Respond to partner inquiries, follow up on communications, and ensure seamless collaboration.
- Create and submit annual outreach programming reports to the CEO and partners, showcasing program outcomes and impact.
Year-Round Outreach Activities (30%)
- Coordinate with the Communications and Operations departments to promote festival events and activities to community organizations.
- Develop and maintain a robust contact database of festival allies, partners, and supporters.
- Periodically update stakeholders on festival progress and ensure consistent engagement.
- Plan and manage guest lists, send invitations, handle RSVPs, and oversee guest management for special RIFFA events, such as the Annual Press Conference, RIFFA Awards, and RIFFA Academy Gala.
- Attend local trade shows, community events, and industry gatherings as a RIFFA representative, either independently or with board members, the CEO, or department delegates.
- Actively identify and pursue outreach opportunities to enhance festival visibility and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in outreach, partnership development, or community engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to write professional proposals, contracts, and reports.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for fostering community connections.
- Experience in event planning and guest management is an asset.
- Familiarity with the arts, cultural organizations, or film industry is a plus.
This is a remote position that can be performed from anywhere. However, physical attendance is required for the annual festival, press events, and any other special events that necessitate your presence.

Sponsorship Manager

Position Overview:
RIFFA is seeking a highly motivated and organized Manager of Sponsorship to oversee sponsor relationships, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement throughout the year. This position is critical in securing and enhancing sponsor commitments, ensuring contract execution, and maximizing sponsor visibility at RIFFA events.
Key Responsibilities:
Sponsorship Management & Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders through regular communication and scheduled meetings.
- Present RIFFA’s annual plans, answer inquiries, and engage the CEO or Operations Director when necessary for partnership discussions.
- Renew sponsorship contracts, secure signatures, and archive signed agreements.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Operations Director, Treasurer, and Finance Department to establish sponsorship goals and timelines, ensuring targets are met.
- Periodically update sponsors about festival progress, providing insights and maintaining engagement throughout the year.
Sponsorship Package Development
- Annually review sponsorship packages with the CEO and department heads to identify opportunities for sponsor exposure and update offerings.
- Develop creative pitches for new sponsorship programs and solicit support from potential sponsors.
Contract Execution & Visibility Management
- Ensure all aspects of signed sponsorship contracts are executed, coordinating with other departments to meet visibility and exposure commitments.
- Collect digital assets (logos, commercials, posters, etc.) from sponsors and distribute them to the Communications and relevant departments for implementation.
- Work with the Finance Department to issue invoices, track payments, and confirm receipt of sponsorship funds.
Post-Festival Reporting & Follow-Up
- Collect the annual festival report from the CEO or Operations Director and circulate it to sponsors.
- Schedule follow-up meetings with sponsors to review past festival results, discuss future plans, and secure continued support.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sponsorship management, sales, or partnership development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing contracts, deadlines, and sponsor deliverables.
- Proficiency in creating compelling sponsorship packages and delivering impactful presentations.
- Knowledge of event planning and marketing is an asset.
- Familiarity with the arts, film, or cultural festivals is a plus.
