Emma Goldman is called in the middle of the night to assist the delivery of a baby in a poor Jewish family of Brooklyn, with many mouths to feed. She tries to alleviate the suffering of the woman in labour. Back home, she is confronted by her partner Ed, exhausted by her absences. Forced to choose between her love for him and her activism, she writes the influencial speech "The Tragedy of Woman’s Emancipation" (1906).

While wandering in a desert, 13-years-old Javid and his friends come across a sack of rice on the side of the road. After fighting over the sack of rice, the kids make a bet. The winner is the one who keeps his breath inside the plastic bag more than others. During the competition, Javid suddenly falls on the ground. He is not breathing, and the others run away in fear of being arrested by the police. It is difficult for Kahoor, who has won the competition, to let go of the sack of rice.
