Under the blue moon, mysterious spirit Yen comes on land in search of her human mother. She befriends Sami, a strange orphan, who suggests that catching a thousand falling leaves would grant them a wish, and Yen would find her mother. As they go on catching leaves, Yen grows closer to Sami, discovers her own humanity, and ultimately remembers her past.
